HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK

Hi cupcakes! :) To keep you updated about the daily happenings in my life, I have decided that I will blog about the things/persons that highlighted my week. I will post my highlights of the week posts every monday. So for this week, here are the persons and things that kept me busy and my heart happy.

1. Visitor for a day- Last December 7, I met up with my bestfriends danie and nozomi. I got the chance to visit my alma mater again and I can't wait to be back in school! A lot of things have changed. The new building is superb and it was so luxurious! Danie and I went to starbucks to have some coffee. Star tagged along and then we had lunch with nozomi and star at Papa Johns. Loved the feeling when I rode the LRT again!

2. Makeup Artist Wanna Be- Last December 10, my mom told me to do her makeup because she will be a ninang to a wedding. So I gladly did her hair and make-up and I must say that I enjoyed the experience! And she liked it! She gave me a talent fee. I'm so happy because I just realized that one of my frustrations is to be a makeup artist.

3. New found love- My mom bought these home because it was a client's Christmas gift to them. I absolutely love them! This biscuit came all the way from Malaysia. I thought it was just one of the commercialized biscuits that are being sold locally but I was wrong! The biscuit itself tastes a little salty but with the chocolate, it tasted heavenly! I hope this certain brand of biscuit is being sold here in our country.

4. 12 days of Christmas- Know the song "12 days of Christmas"? Well, since it's my daughter's first Christmas, I want her to experience the 12 days of Christmas by giving her 12 gifts! I just want her first Christmas to be as memorable as possible. This is my first gift for her.

4. Movie Date- My husband treated me yesterday to the movie house and we watched breaking dawn! (at last!). I was glad that I was able to fought the urge to cry on the wedding scene! I can definitely relate to it. It was definitely a date because he also treated me to lunch and then we canvassed for the things that we would buy for out Christmas Shopping.

5. Peppermint Mocha- I am now starting to collect stickers for the 2012 planner! I chose option 1 because I love the holiday drinks! Especially the peppermint mocha! Whether hot or iced, it is indeed my favorite! 14 more stickers to go!

6. On the 2nd and 3rd Day of Christmas- I just bought my 2nd and 3rd gift for cara. I also bought some gift cards! All disney princesses.I want it to be my daughter's collection. 9 gifts to buy!

That's it for the highlights of my week! How about you? What did you do last week? What made your day and who did you spend it with? Advance Happy Holidays!

REVIEW: MAC LUSTRE LIPSTICK IN JUBILEE

PRODUCT: MAC LUSTRE LIPSTICK IN JUBILEE
WHERE TO BUY: MAC OUTLETS
PRICE: 1,000PHP

Hi there! It's been a long time since my last blog. Been busy with wifely and motherly duties and work. As you all know, I am currently working as a fashion article writer. I've got loads of products to blog about and I promise to blog everyday starting today. So for my comeback, I'm going to review my favorite lipstick which is MAC in Jubilee.

I bought this lipstick at Trinoma. Yes, MAC already has an outlet in Trinoma and it is right beside Clinique's.  It was actually an impulsive buy. I am an impulsive shopper and I must get what I want even if it will drain my money and savings. Haha.

It is priced at 1,000PHP. Take note that they are way overpriced here in the Philippines. If you buy this from the states, it will cost you 800-900PHP only. It is indeed too costly and pricey for a medium sized lipstick.

This is my 1st ever MAC product and I must say that I did got my money's worth! I really love the sleek and classy packaging. Very simple but it definitely has a lasting impact. I love the slight glimmer and shimmer on the tube.

Since  I am a morena or medium skinned woman, I prefer nudes and neutrals when it comes to lip shades. I don't like striking hues of red and pink. I told the sales lady to recommend a good neutral shade that would suit my skin tone, and she introduced me to MAC LUSTRE LIPSTICK'S JUBILEE.

I tried it on and I immediately loved the color. It looks nude indeed! I also don't like shimmers in my lipstick so I prefer simple looking shades and finish.

HITS:

1. It has a nice packaging.
2. Glides smoothly into your lips.
3. It has that soft and smooth finish.
4. Will last you long but it depends on your usage.
5. There are a wide range and variety of colors.
6. Has a nice finish.

MISS:

1. It has a weird smell.
2. Too pricey and expensive.
3. Doesn't last for long hours so you will need to reapply it.
4. Will look dry on your lips if you don't apply lip balm before putting it.
5. Fades easily.
6. The smell of the lipstick lingers in your mouth that you can actually taste it.

This is the shade of JUBILEE when swatched on a medium skin tone.

Of course I will repurchase again from MAC, but I would also love to try ALL of their products. I am a sucker for MAC products but I do believe that I need to save tons of money if I want to have them all. Haha. Till my next post cupcakes! <3

Matabang Utak

I came across this blog today and I just can't stop reading it. I love to read blogs that contains posts about anything under the sun. Random thoughts and daily ramblings about life, love, and friendship. One post made a big impact on me and I just want to share it with you, my lovely readers.

Dati noong walang pumapansin sayo dito sobrang mapagkumbaba mo.

As I've said, it doesn't matter to me if I become famous or not in this world of blogging. I just know some bloggers that I thought were my friends but they eventually changed. As they say, "hindi marunong tumingin sa pinanggalingan". They tell you to be yourself and when you do it, they will be the first ones to judge you. I'm very thankful that I know a FEW bloggers that are genuine and humble, and I admire them for being that even though they are already famous. That's why I only follow a few blogs, blogs that can help me. So sorry, if I have to unfollow you on twitter and on Blogspot. Sorry for not taking the chance to know me better. Because some bloggers are influenced by their co-bloggers. Kaaway ng isa, kaaway ng lahat.

Lesson learned. Those who follow the crowd will eventually get lost in it. As for me, I won't apologize for being true and real. I do not blog to please other bloggers anyway.

Make-Up won't mask an Ugly Heart

"Life is too short to spend hoping that the perfectly arched eyebrow or the hottest new lip shade will mask an ugly heart."- Kevyn Aucoin

" Wearing make-up won't make you pretty on the inside, unless you eat the make-up."

The two quotes that I swore to live by when I started on the make-up blogging industry. Just because one doesn't have many followers doesn't mean  that she's ugly or she's not good enough. I personally think that those people who judge are the ugly ones. In picking friends, I don't care if you're fat, short, amputated, dark, etc. I want friends that I can trust. I am thankful for the very few true people in my life. For me, they are the most beautiful persons alive. I am also thankful for the few blogger friends that I have met that showed me kindness, rest assured that I will also shower you with kindness. After all, it's true what they say, I would always prefer QUALITY over QUANTITY. TV guestings, magazine appearances, being famous in the blogging industry is not important to me. A few compliments from real and true people is enough for me. I don't care if I'm not the most sought after beauty blogger of all time. What matters is that I have my friends that supports me in every step of the way.

I just want to say that EVERY woman is beautiful in their own way. I am dedicating this post to the beautiful women who stayed with me in all my ups and downs.

To my Mom.

To my Daughter, Cara Estrelle

To my cousins, Aila, Serine, Lara, Meg, Rian, Geneve.

To my bestfriends from St.Scholastica's College, Danie and Nozomi

To my SK bestfriends, my partner Rician and Olive

To my Bb. Obando Friends, Rovi, Rhi-Anne, Deverly, Lhexi

To my partner in crime, Aatifa

Other friends, Ate Bea, Gay, Marianne, Sam, Anjen, Dominique.

To the most generous and down to earth beauty blogger that I know, Ms. Martha

Who are the most beautiful people for you? Why do you consider them beautiful?

Dadi's 23rd Birthday Celebration

My husband's birthday is on the 31st of October. I've been thinking of things to give him, but I also decided to give him a cake instead. So I contacted Rose Anne of Boo's Recipe to make my desired cake. Since my husband's favorite chocolate is kitkat, why not put it in the cake right?

I also asked that she put chocolate covered strawberries on top.

And then, I put a ribbon to support the kit kat chocolates.

I love everything unique. I just don't like copying others ideas that's why I look and research for my own ideas in advance.

She totally did it. She brought to life the cake in my idea. How lovely! Thanks bubu!

Dadi and Cara.

The candle we used was from my estrel's cake.

Top view.

So many kit kats!

So later that night, my husband invited his friends and I invited some of mine for a little celebration. A night of eating, drinking and catching up with each other's lives. For this, I wore a black dress from People Are People.

My friends Rician and Lhexi.

With Rician, Lhexi, Alvin, Nars, Ronel and Kuya Ramon. Mostly, my circle includes people from the pageant that I joined.

With nicko this time.

With my husband's friends.

The guys are my husband's friends since highschool.

It was such a fun night! I think they went home at around 2pm. I  didn't drink that much, but my husband was so drunk that he fell asleep on the sofa. haha. :)

To Dine For: ESTREL'S CARAMEL CAKES PART 2

My husband asked me what gift should he give me on our anniversary. I didn't wish for material things since I am the kind of person who wants to shop by myself. I love to shop alone because I can concentrate and I can really choose the item that I want.

So I asked him to buy me an Estrel's cake. Of course, this time the roses are shades of purple.

Good things they managed to squeeze in the long personalized message.

Message.

Message.

Top view of the cake. I just hate to eat Estrel's cakes. They are so beautifully made!

Since it's our anniversary, I requested for a heart shaped cake.

Back view of the cake.See the details on the bottom of the cake? Amazing.

A darker picture so that you can see the difference of the colors.

If you can differentiate the colors, there are 3 colors of roses. Purple, Light Purple and Dark Purple.

So, if ever you'll give me a gift, I would be happy if you will give me an Estrel's cake instead of make-ups. :)
